If he ever hurts you
True love won't desert you
You know I still love you
That Tyler man is a bastard. Just when everything was starting to look as if it would all sort itself out, he had to show up and ruin things. Can anyone say 'unfair'?
I almost got rid of him, too. I've always been good at manipulating people. I can spot weaknesses in a person, analyze them, figure out what's wrong with their heads. It was all too easy with DI Tyler. Anyone can see he's completely delusional. It was so easy to use those delusions against him, to make him believe what I wanted him to believe. It was an amazing feeling, watching the man teetering on the edge of insanity. Knowing that I had that kind of power over someone.
It was a real pity that Annie found out. If she hadn't, Tyler would have been a splatter on the pavement and I would have been there to offer comfort and sympathy. After all, I'm a psychologist. I know you can't make people sane, only insane in greater or lesser degrees. But Annie saved him. She talked him down and now they're thick as theives.
He promoted her to WDC. She told me the other day, grinning like a maniac. I'm proud of her. She's an astouding woman--smart, funny, kind, and intuitive. She has a weakness, though. She likes to think she can fix people.
There is no fixing DI Tyler. One day he'll go mad again, and she'll see. She'll realize what a fool she is to believe that you can change a person, especially someone like Sam. He'll hurt her. He'll break her heart, and when he does, I'll be waiting for her with open arms.
