Mod Stuff - Poetry Prompt Challenge

This fortnight we're going to do something a little different. Below the cut are four extracts from various different poems and you need to use one or more of them to inspire your work. You don't have to include these lines and follow the same theme; though you might choose to do either of these things. You may want to only use the title, or key words found in the poem. You may want to use other lines from these poems. It doesn't matter how you approach it, so long as you have fun.

They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
-- Phillip Larkin, This Be The Verse

But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only,
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered -
Till I scarcely more than muttered `Other friends have flown before -
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.'
Then the bird said, `Nevermore.'
-- Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
-- Elizabeth Barrett Browning, How Do I Love Thee? (Sonnet 43)

When I think of the lollies I licked,
And the liquorice allsorts I picked,
Sherbet dabs, big and little,
All that hard peanut brittle,
My conscience gets horribly pricked.
-- Pam Ayres, Oh I Wish I'd Looked After Me Teeth

You have two weeks. Entries are due May 24.
